Velory is a media player. Your playlists, logins and what you watch stay on your devices. This page explains the little data the service does need, and why.

What we never collect

  • Your playlist links, provider names, usernames or passwords.
  • Stream links, channel lists or your watch history.
  • Your IP address, in our database or in analytics.

What the app sends when it starts

To show the right settings and updates, the app registers once and then checks in each time it opens. It sends a random install ID (we keep only a one-way hash of it), whether it runs on a TV or a phone, the device model, the Android version, the app version and the app language. We also note the country of the request, from Cloudflare's network data. We use this to send the right settings, announce updates, and count how many devices use each version.

Setting up your TV from your phone

When you send a playlist from velorytv.com/link, your phone encrypts it with a key that only your TV holds. Our servers pass the encrypted data to your TV and delete it as soon as it arrives, or after 10 minutes at most. We can't read it at any point.

The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person is sending it. Turnstile is run by Cloudflare under its own privacy policy.

Usage counts and crash reports

The app may send anonymous events such as "app opened" or "playback error" with an error code only, never a link or channel name. If it sends crash reports, links and addresses are removed before they leave your device.

Purchases

Velory Pro is bought through Google Play. Google handles the payment; we only receive a purchase token to confirm that Pro is active on your device.

Where data is kept and for how long

Data is stored with Cloudflare. Device records are kept while the app is in use. Pairing data is deleted within 10 minutes.

Your choices

Uninstalling the app stops all data from being sent. To ask what we hold about a device, or to have it deleted, email privacy@velorytv.com and we'll help you find the device's record.
